H-shape or I-shape Cloud Pattern

While I was preparing this rice grain porcelain mini series, I was wondering what this H-shape or I-shape pattern meant. Not much information could be found online, someone guesses this pattern is related to I Ching. After checking some pattern books and photos of some old rice grain porcelain (like the attached photo that I found online), I guess the pattern originally could be the clouds drawn in I-shape, and the bats are flying on the sky between these clouds. Then later on, to make it easier for mass production, this cloud pattern is turned into the I-shape pattern that we see today, and after years nobody remember how it looked originally.
